Piano EnsembleThis composition was written and arranged by Michael specifically for three siblings and a cousin. This particular performance is a rehearsal before their recital. The melodies in the piece are from an Irish jig and an Irish Waltz. This composition introduces the students to extended techniques which involves playing the piano in untraditional ways.

Personalized Compositions for StudentsMichael composes piano duets, trios, and other ensemble music that is appropriate to students' particular needs and abilities. He finds that they become more motivated in the performance of music when it shows off their skills. It offers purpose and reward, and creating music together with peers is fun and inspirational.

MasterclassesMasterclasses (group lessons) are taught once a month. Students practice performance and play music games that incorporate music theory. This is a highlight to the lesson plan, as it reinforces what has been learned and provides fun group activities. Some students learn faster with peer encouragement.
